THE HEALTH INSURANCE COUNSELING PROJECT

The Health Insurance Counseling Project (HICP) offers free health insurance information, education, counseling, and legal services to seniors and people with disabilities who live in the District of Columbia, and to their families and caregivers.

HICP helps to resolve unpaid medical bills, to appeal denials of medical services, and to apply for prescription discounts. HICP is funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the DC Office on Aging, and the GW Law School.

HICP maintains a telephone helpline at 202-739-0668 (TTY 202-973-1079). Confidential messages can be left at any time and calls will be returned during business hours.
